Thieves

I.

Thief in mid-summer,
Take from us our burden plus.
We are fragile as glass,
You are sturdy as grass–
We make fire and you burn.

II.

Thief in mid-winter,
Take from us our sins unpaid.
We are soft as snow,
You are hard and sharp as ice–
Blood stains snow yet drips off ice.

Reflections

I.

Cold glass window heart,

Seal me from light’s honesty.

Moonlight slips past thee

Reflections of a love lost

Shattered, yet never broken.

II.

Mirror’s truth I gain,

Broken glass shards in my eyes.

Alas, I can see

Pain caused by my blood stained hands.

Seen by me yet felt by all.

A Flower for Everyone

I.

Colored wild flowers,

Laid to rest in wooden crates.

A single white rose,

Worshiped in a crystal vase.

Both are classier than rocks.

II.

Jasmine scented blooms,

Her fragrant skin lush with grace.

Friendly fervor wilts,

Frenzied ecstasy blossoms.

Chastity plucked ripe in vain.
